Picked up some Mega Marbles a while back. Maybe a year ago.
Don't really know if they come out with new models on a yearly basis or not,
but overall it seemed to me the quality had deteriorated a bit from my previous
purchase, which was a year before that. Specifically, there were more of the
traditional 'as-made' defects, and marbles that were clearly intended to have a
high-gloss surface didn't look nearly as 'wet' as the earlier ones.
The photo below shows some pretty decent ones from the newer group.
In spite of their imperfections they're well worth the theoretical price.
Unfortunately, these are the only seven marbles I found out of forty-eight
that I thought were worth taking a photo of. So not so cheap after all.
The lesson I got out of this is that there're some nice Megas out there that can
be a great deal, but you really need to see them in hand or at least have some
exceptionally well-done auction photos to look at. ( :
