Well, etch it in stone, toss the last shovel of Georgia clay on the grave, turn out the lights and get ready for the next service...I'd say stick a fork in 'em only they don't taste so good...'cause marbles are officially DEAD in these parts like a whole lot of other once-upon-a-time collectibles...places and things things in general are DEAD...it's a buyers' market like never seen in my lifetime in almost every area as long as you have money to play, that is...the dwindling list of 'haves' are growing faster and fatter than Gurgle Gurgle on steroids and we noters are noting like a nun knitting her habit seein' how our habits are suddenly untouchable and utterly GWTW, Tarlton twins and Tara style...Katie Scarlett the only thing worth living and dying for on the plantation these days is moms old jewelry (if she has any left) and especially any of precious metal...gold, platinum and silver, oh my! We are suddenly on a gold standard or something that feels a lot like it...been down at the crik with a pie tin seeing what might stick to the bottom of the pan...lost my spot at the local intersection to fellow more-unfortunates with better signage...theirs read, 'alcoholics-not, drug-free family really in need of work for food'...mine said 'swap you my marbles for your gold...marbles' spot checked hourly, gold by the minute'...nobody was buying it anyway as passer-bys kept throwing AOMs at me.
Just got back from the ceremony and yes, I chose cremation for obvious reasons as well as 'Amazing Grace' as the one song to say fare-the-well to mostly-loved, oft-coveted, once-to-be-found round or semi-round glass prematurely taken in the mib plague of 2011 that ravaged a nation south of the Mason Dixon Line...I sadly recall, the carnage began slowly at first in 2008 but by 2011 all was lost.
